★INSIDE THE FIRM

Why policyholders call CORE Public Adjusters

CORE Public Adjusters was built to be the opposite of the lone-wolf operator. Instead of one adjuster juggling every part of your claim, CORE runs a full bench of specialists so that damage estimation, claim monitoring, coverage analysis, and settlement negotiation each get a dedicated professional. That team-based structure is the firm's stated point of difference, and it shows up in how a claim moves through the shop from first inspection to final check.

Primary Public Adjuster Rhonda Coren oversees the entire operation and every claim that runs through it. Behind her sits a deep roster: in-house counsel Marilyn Eisler analyzing coverage and negotiating with carriers, a claims manager keeping files moving, licensed public adjusters, an estimator, an independent adjuster, and claims, settlement, and communication specialists. Few public adjusting firms carry this much specialized staff under one roof.

CORE handles the full range of Florida property damage across residential and commercial policies: hurricane and tornado, wind and rain, fire and lightning, hail, plumbing breaks, water damage, vandalism and theft, tree damage, collapse, and business interruption losses. The firm builds comprehensive line-by-line estimates and reads complex policy language to press for the full amount owed. The promise is simple and contingency-based: get you paid, or they do not get paid.

01THE ROLE

What a public adjuster does

A public adjuster is the only kind of adjuster licensed to work for you, the policyholder, not the insurance company. They document the loss, build a detailed scope and estimate, read the policy for coverage you may have missed, and negotiate the payout with the carrier, working on a percentage of what you recover.

A public adjuster is not a contractor and not an attorney: they cannot make repairs, file suit, or give legal advice. See what a public adjuster actually does and when to hire one.

02WHAT THEY CAN CHARGE

The fee, in Florida

Florida, capped by statute

Florida caps a public adjuster's fee at 20% of the claim payment, dropping to 10% for claims from a declared state of emergency (Fla. Stat. § 626.854). The fee applies only to what the insurer pays; it may not be charged on your deductible.

03VERIFY BEFORE YOU SIGN
CONFIRM THE LICENSE YOURSELF, FREE & PUBLIC

Get the exact legal name and license (or NPN) number, then confirm an active public adjuster license in the state where your property sits. Do it on the official roster, never take the number on a business card at face value.

04WHEN IT BECOMES A LEGAL FIGHT

A public adjuster, or an attorney?

A public adjuster is the right call when the carrier agrees the loss is covered but the check is too low. When the carrier denies coverage outright, alleges misrepresentation, sits on the claim past the statutory deadlines, or acts in bad faith, that is legal territory a public adjuster cannot enter.

If your claim was denied rather than merely underpaid, start with a free attorney review; see public adjuster vs. attorney, why claims get denied, and the deadlines that protect your rights.
