IN THE DENIAL RECORD

We read 1,891 Civil Remedy Notices filed against Florida property insurers over denied claims. 25 of them name ASI / Progressive Home (NAIC 10872).

St. PetersburgACCEPTED 3/13/2025$122,000

On October 4, 2024, the Insurer admitted that the Property sustained damage from the Loss that was covered by the Insured's insurance policy (policy number stated above; hereinafter the "Policy") for which the Insurer assessed a replacement cost value of $64,782.28 for the dwelling ("Insurer Estimate"), a mere 53% of the eventual cost incurred to repair the property. The Insurer Estimate was prepared and authored by Adjuster [name redacted] . The Insurer Estimate was patently deficient in that it omitted entire categories of damage that would have been visible to and recognizable by any person viewing the damaged Property, let alone a qualified insurance adjuster.

JacksonvilleACCEPTED 10/30/2024$75,062

Moreover, PPC determined that at least $75,062.78 worth of repairs would be required to return the property to its pre-loss condition as a result of the windstorm loss. Thereafter, the insured sent correspondence to AMERICAN STRATEGIC enclosing the supporting PPC report outlining the cause, scope, and cost of the loss along with other supporting documents and requested AMERICAN STRATEGIC to reconsider its coverage denial. Gannon determined that at least $43,121.18 worth of repairs would be required to return the property to its pre-loss condition as a result of the windstorm loss.

Counts are filings naming the insurer, matched on NAIC code. They follow book size as much as behaviour: a carrier with more Florida policies collects more filings. Each is an allegation by a policyholder, not a finding.

Denied or underpaid? Fight it with the carriers’ own playbook.

LICENSED · SOUTH CAROLINALICENSED · FLORIDA

Halversen Law is a property-insurance law firm licensed in South Carolina and Florida that represents policyholders, never carriers. Since 2008, the firm has taken on denied, underpaid, and delayed claims across the full range of storm and property losses: wind and hurricane damage, water disputes, roof claims, and commercial and condominium losses. Its attorneys spent the early part of their careers defending insurance companies, and now use that inside knowledge of the carrier playbook, how an adjuster builds a denial and where the file is weak, to fight for the policyholder on the other side of it. Cases are handled on contingency: no fee unless you recover.
